Summer Book Review - Adventures with Candy!

  

I have three books in my new Candy the Kitten . . . One thing we always do with the children we love from the time they are born is comfort them, encourage them, show love and kindness to them. As they grow up we are able to see how they took this comfort, encouragement, love, and kindness they received and incorporate it into the way they respond to others. Today I want to share with you one of the times I was able to see and experience this with my grands.

This Week is Canadian Environment Week!

As I've been sharing with you for the past month, I recently learned I am a "Lost Canadian" (I wrote several weeks ago, "If your parent, grandparent, or great-grandparent was born in Canada, you may already be a Canadian citizen. Canada’s new citizenship law — Bill C-3, An Act to amend the Citizenship Act — has permanently removed the first-generation limit which previously prevented Canadian citizenship from passing beyond one generation born outside Canada. For Americans with Canadian ancestry, the implications are enormous. Until now, many of these families were cut off from Canadian citizenship by rules which were rigid, arbitrary, and often discriminatory. Bill C-3 has changed this. Many of these individuals are part of a group known as “Lost Canadians” — people with legitimate Canadian ancestry whose citizenship was never recognized or was stripped away by outdated laws." So, for the past month I've been learning a lot about Canada - and today I learned this week is Canadian Environment Week - sounds like a great idea to me!

If you want to visit a National Park where you will see nature in all it's beauty and things which are unique, which you may not be able to see anywhere else, then Gros Morne National Park in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada is absolutely the place for you to visit!

Summer Book Review - What Makes Candy Purr?

With Summer just around the corner I want to let you know about the new books in my Candy the Kitten . . . and Me! books - today I want to let you know about one the children you love are sure to enjoy - What Makes Candy Purr? Summer Book Review - Candy's Favorite Place

With Summer nearly upon us it seems like the perfect day to let you know about another of my books in my Candy the Kitten . . . and Me! series of books -which would make a great gift for a child you love - this time, Candy's Favorite Place!

In Candy's Favorite Place, children will get to learn where Candy, a sweet little calico kitten, loves to spend time. She really likes to be a cat in a box and a cat on her princess pillows, but there is one place where she really loves to be and children will enjoy discovering Candy's Favorite Place!

When my oldest grand was five years old they were quite the reader! Sounding out words was easy for them and they found great joy at being able to sit down with a book and read what all those words have to say! 

This of course, made me a happy grandma as I want my grands to love reading! It also gave me some unexpected opportunities to see how they thought . . . and a few good laughs as well!
