Just for Fun . . . Ketchup, Flutterbys, Cats, and More!

It has been a while since I shared some, "Just for Fun" strange, but true, facts, so I thought I'd share a few with you today!  Did you know . . .

  • 315 entries in Webster's 1996 Dictionary were misspelled.
  • Ketchup was sold in the 1830's as a medicine.
  • Leonardo da Vinci could write with one hand and draw with the other at the same time.
  • The original name for the butterfly was "flutterby"!
  • Mosquito repellents don't repel. They hide you. The spray blocks the mosquito's sensors so they don't know you're there.
  • The "pound" (#) key on your keyboard is called an octothorp.
  • The only domestic animal not mentioned in the Bible is the cat.
Well . . . these are just a "hodge-podge" of strange, but true facts . . . did you know any of these? Have fun sharing them with your grandchildren! :-)
