Handing Down Confident Faith is Essential & Can be Fun, Too!

Today I've been writing about reading to and with the children we love and I often write about handing down confident faith to our grandchildren. As I have said before; "We so easily become distracted by the things in this world. We lose focus of what is truly most important and think things like earning more money, taking bigger and better vacations, owning a bigger and new home, driving new cars, etc. are important, when in truth, none of these things matter. Not really. If we end up with all these things, but fail to hand confident faith to our grandchildren will we say, "Oh well. I had a great car, house and big bank account!"? No. Nothing, please allow me to repeat, NOTHING is more important than handing down confident faith to our grandchildren.

If we are serious about handing down confident faith, we have to stay focused on what is really important so we do not become distracted by this world."

I absolutely believe handing down confident faith is of utmost importance, so for this reason, I write resources I am able to use with them such as, Life on the Goldilocks Planet (filled with full-color photos, fun animal facts, science quotes, Bible verses, and activities to help children learn they are able to believe in God with confidence), Praying Deeper Through the Psalms for Children  (written to engage all children in praying through the Psalms),  Generations Quest (this resource helps you engage the ones you love in reading through the Bible together), Generations Quest - Cultivate the Faith!, (Each week's resource includes a science project, fun options for Minute-to-Win-it-type games, crafts, recipes, time at the park and service projects. But, while all of these things are fun, the core part, or at least the most important part, is where you spend a year praying through the Psalms.) the little answer book for children (available the beginning of June and will help you teach the children you love why they are able to believe God is real, God and science go together, God is good, and the Bible is true.)

And, just so you know, I have written curriculum for Big Idea/Veggie Tales, SuperBook, The Manner's Mentor's Curriculum, and Calvary Church (Grand Rapids, MI). I've also written for Group (I'm one of the contributing authors for Group's Humongous Book of Bible Skits for Children's Ministry), Children's Ministry Magazine, Your Church Magazine, PLUS, About the Children's Department, Grandmas with Heart, and grandma's cookie jar!

Handing down confident faith is of primary importance for us to do - but it can be . . . and should be, fun and exciting to do as well! These resources equip you to engage and teach the ones you love both "what" we believe and "why" we believe it.
