grandma's cookie jar
just as grandma's cookie jar should always be full of good things, this blog will be full of good ideas, information, activities and reviews of things to help grandma . . . and grandpa, mom and dad too . . . pass on a heritage of faith to the children in their lives!

On September 19, 2008 my life changed; I became a grandma for the first time. It just took one look into those warm, chocolate-brown eyes to wrap me around his sweet little finger and I knew I was going to absolutely LOVE being a grandma.

With my second grandchild's arrival just a couple months away, on May 20, 2011 I began writing a blog for grandmas. The previous two years showed me there were not many resources available for grandparents, and even fewer written by grandmas for grandmas; so I decided to step up and provide information, ideas and resources to help grandmas (and grandpas/parents) connect with and hand down faith to the children they love.

Image may contain: 6 people, including David Lee Freeman Sr, people smiling, child and outdoorgrandma's cookie jar has since grown to 1319 facebook likes (with more adding each week) and we average about 10,343 page views each month on this blog. I post once a day (missing very few days) and sometimes twice with posts about everything from sharing recipes, crafts, science projects and the cute things my grandsons say to ideas on how to hand down faith.

I also review product in which grandmas - and grandpas/parents are interested for themselves and for the children they love. Each October/November I release my Christmas Gift Review and each April/May I release my Spring Gift Review where I typically review (and give away) a nice variety of items from books and candles to dolls and appliances.

I love being a grandma and I love spending time with my grandsons, so writing to share ideas to help grandmas (grandpas/parents) do the same brings great joy to my heart.
