did you know - Sumatran Rhinoceros!

Living in the jungles on Sumatra and Borneo are the last of the Sumatran Rhinoceros. They remind me of John 1:3 – All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made.

Lets take a closer look at Sumatran Rhinos and how they show us God made them.

  • ·   Sumatran Rhinoceros are the smallest rhinos on Earth.
  • ·   They are the only Asian rhino with two horns.
  • ·   Sumatran Rhinos are a hairy rhino babies are covered with thick reddish-brown hair which thins, turns black, and gets shorter as they age.
  • ·   Not surprising, they are related to extinct woolly rhinos.
  • ·  These little rhinos are the most endangered rhino there may be as few as 12, but no more than 80, currently living in the wild due to loss of habitat and poaching. They are now protected by guards.
  • ·   Sumatran Rhinos moms are pregnant for about 16 months and give birth to one calf which they raise for three years.
  • ·   Sumatran Rhinos push through jungles leaving tunnels behind them.
  • ·   Sumatran Rhinos are so rare, very few people have ever been able to see one in the wild.

What do you think is the most interesting thing about Sumatran Rhinos? God designed these little Rhinos with unique-to-them features besides their size. It makes the most sense to me to believe Someone designed them with thought put into making them exactly as they are. This amazing animal helps me believe in God, because He is the best explanation for why Sumatran Rhinos were created!

Activity to Make the Point & Have Fun

God designed and created Sumatran Rhinoceros with hair this hair comes in handy by helping them stay cool on the hot islands where they live they like to take mud baths, and the mud sticks to their hair, keeping them cool. To help us remember the way God designed Sumatran Rhinos, lets try a surprising activity you will need . . .

  • ·  1 roll of toilet paper
  • ·  1 large or 2 small bars of Ivory MUST be Ivory soap
  • ·  1 to 4 cups of water
  • ·  A microwave oven
  • ·  A large tub

Directions - 1. Take the roll of toilet paper into your yard and have fun throwing it around you need to get the entire roll un-rolled. Be sure to gather all the toilet paper 2. Place your bar of Ivory soap on a microwave-safe plate and zap in your microwave on high for one to two minutes 3. Watch through the window as the soap grows 3. Remove the Ivory soap and allow to cool, then using your hands, break the soap into small pieces into the bowl/tub with your toilet paper 4. Add one to four cups of warm water and mix with your hands do not give up, it may take a few minutes, but you will end up with a very interesting substance

God knew what He was doing when He designed and created Sumatran Rhinoceros  just right He designed and created you just right, too! When you play with your clean mud and then use your mud soap to wash your hands, think about the Sumatran Rhino, the ways God designed and created them, and how He designed and created you as well!

Think About This . . .

An honest man, armed with all knowledge available to us now, could only state that in some sense, the origin of life appears at the moment to be almost a miracle, so many are the conditions which would have had to have been satisfied to get it going.
