Family Fun Idea - Photo Scavenger Hunt!

If you are looking for fun ideas to use with the children you love this year, then I have a fun idea for you . . . 

Go on a photo scavenger hunt! Just give them a list of things to find and a camera and send them out to search around your yard or in a park, or any place you choose. They can look for items and when they find them, take a picture to show you when they get back!

The New Year has begun, so if you are looking for something fun you could give the children you love as a gift, consider getting some of the books from the illustrate my own series along with crayons, markers, and/or colored pencils. All of them are fun books which will uniquely engage the children you love in ways they have never engaged before with the accounts of Bible heroes. As they (and you) illustrate their books, they will think about what is happening, the things the Bible people said and did, and how God showed His love and grace to the Bible people . . . which will help the children you love better understand how God shows His love and grace to them as well! 

Winter Fun - Amaze Your Grandchildren with Frozen Bubbles!

As I've mentioned a time or two, I live in Michigan - otherwise known as the "Frozen North"! I've never been a person who enjoyed the cold; being warm is so very much more pleasant! But, the other day when I was browsing on Pinterest I found an idea for something really cool which you could do with your grandchildren in the cold . . . make frozen bubbles!

Typically, I'm not great at brainteasers . . . my husband is great at them, but I don't tend to "get them"! However, as we start January, since it is Brainteaser's Month, I thought I'd browse a bit on Pinterest and look for some Brainteasers, even I could "get" and then share them with you!

grandma's cookbook - Chocolate Lasagna!!!

Chances are you are wondering about this post . . . what kind of recipe could possibly be called, "chocolate lasagna"? Is it good? It does have "chocolate" in the name, so doesn't this mean it must be tasty? But, chocolate "lasagna"???? 

Well . . . have no fear!!!! This is a dessert which will leave you heading for the store to get the ingredients, for sure!!! My daughter, Tiffany, posted this recipe on her facebook and when I saw it, I knew I had to share it with you! 

Just for Fun - National Soup Month!

Yes, this month is National Soup Month! Since January tends to be a chilly month, I can not think of a better month to cook, eat, and enjoy  soup!  

I looked on-line and found a site which has 31 soup recipes for, "31 Days of Soup"! I think I'll be making chili, chicken noodle, and beef noodle soup this month . . . . although we do also enjoy potato soup and pea soup as well.

So, I am always on the watch for new projects which I can try with my grands. Get Out, Start the New Year by Moving with the Alevo Alu!

  

Do you, or someone you love, have challenges with mobility? If so today I want to take time to write about the Alevo Alu as this rollator will "open the door" for you to get out and enjoy being more mobile or mobile with more confidence. 

If you find you are having difficulty getting around whether due to a medical issue or age, but want to be able to get out and move more, consider getting a rollator to help you do so! (If you do not know what a rollator is, picture a walker with wheels.)

Make 2025 the Year Where You Pray Deeper!

Praying for our grandchildren (and children) is something we all know we need to do, but it is also something many of us struggle with. We may feel like our prayers do not even make it through the ceiling above us and do not know what to say or how to pray. Our lives are busy, so finding the time to pray can be a challenge which we may not overcome and then days go by without us spending time in prayer.

grandma's chuckles . . . Apparently I'm, "So Easy to Operate"!!!

When my oldest grand was five years old he was quite the reader! He knew how to sound out words and found great joy at being able to sit down with a book and read what all those words have to say! 

This of course, made me a happy grandma as I want my grands to love reading! It also gave me some unexpected opportunities to see how they thought . . . and a few good laughs as well!

One day we were at the store together and saw a plaque with an "interesting" saying on it. I held it up for him to read . . . it said, "Grandparents; so easy to operate even a child can do it!" He read it and then said, "This is true! At least for grandma, that is! All I have to do to get what I want from you is to look cute and be polite!"

Hand Down a Confident Faith with Grasshopper Mice, Laughing Kookaburras, Jawfish & More!

 

When my grands and I began the Life on the Goldilocks Planet books, I thought maybe we would write two books. But, we continued to find interesting animals and wrote more books. As we neared the end of the series, I was afraid by the time we reached book 12, we would run out of the really interesting animals. However; I was so pleasantly surprised to be able to fill book 12 with not only interesting animals, but surprising animals as well! Just look at the animals you will find in  Grasshopper Mice, Laughing Kookaburras, Jawfish & More!  -  Grasshopper Mice, Glasswing Butterflies, Bee Hummingbirds, Servals, Laughing Kookaburras, Spectacled Bears, Cuban Painted Snails, Hooded Seals, Marbled Polecats, Keas, Jawfish, and Green Basilisk Lizards!
