From time to time I write about the amazing things in store for you at Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids, MI. Today I'm very happy to let you know about something incredible which will be happening at Meijer Gardens from May 2 to November 1, 2026 - Chihuly will be here! Yes, Chihuly - and Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park is the only place in the USA where you will be able to enjoy the amazing art of Chihuly this year!
Today I'm very happy to let you know about Nunavut - the largest and youngest Territory in Canada! This "Lost Canadian" is very impressed with Nunavut - it is an extremely interesting and unique place.
A year ago January when I had to get new glasses, I decided to try Pair Eyewear. This line of glasses was designed to have magnetic top frames which you are able to change out for an entirely new look and style - it is SUCH a fantastic idea! It is like getting an entirely new pair of glasses for only $25 or $30 - the cost of a new topper. I have to say, I absolutely LOVE Pair Eyewear!
I've been sharing some Mom "trivia" I found on-line before Mother's Day, so I thought today it would be fun to share some animal mom fun facts! Did you know . . .
One day, several years ago, when my sweet grands were younger, we took some large paper and had them lay on the paper, on the floor while I traced around them. They then got to work turning the drawings into Super Robot versions of themselves!!!
As I wrote a few days ago, growing up in the USA, I learned many things about this country in school and by visiting 34 of the 50 States, but even though Canada was a close neighbor (I grew up in Michigan), I didn't know very much about Canada. When I learned about the new Canadian Bill C-3, and discovered over 1/3 of my ancestors were Canadians, I knew I needed to learn about Canada - especially since I will be able to receive citizenship once I gather all the necessary papers. Today I am very happy to share with you some of the things I've learned about the Canadian Province of Manitoba.
With Summer just a month or so away, it is likely you - or at least your grandchildren - will be spending time in or on sand . . . at the beach or in a sandbox! So, I thought it would be fun to share a couple "sandy facts" with you! Did you know . . .
Today is National Tea Day - while I'm not particularly a fan of hot tea, I do love iced tea, so let's learn some interesting things about tea and I'll share my favorite blueberry, green, iced tea recipe with you. Did you know . . .
For the past week I've been writing about the things this "Lost Canadian" is learning about Canada. Each day I've been writing about one of the Provinces and Territories and today I'm writing about Ontario. Growing up in Michigan, Ontario is the part of Canada I'm most familiar with and the part I've actually visited, so today I'm very happy to let you know about Ontario!

Mother's Day is May 10th this year and if you want to give the moms in your life a gift which lasts and makes a difference for generations, get them the book - "The DNA of Grandparents & Parents Who Hand Down Confident Faith"! It has a new cover and updated content. Look what Tim Kimmel (Family Matters) and Dr. Scott Turansky (National Center for Biblical Parenting) have to say about it -

Now this has to be a great gift idea for mom . . . Chocolate Chip Lip Balm . . . and, it is one you could help your grandchildren make for their mom!!! I found the recipe on Pinterest and most of the ingredients are pretty simple items you may already have at your house . . . and you can likely find the beeswax at a local craft store!
While we all likely were able to breathe a short breath of relief when the massively corrupt war criminal who currently occupies the white house didn't carry though on his war crime threats for the, "whole civilization to die, never to be brought back again." those two weeks are gone and now it sounds like he is making war crime threats again and is once again bringing us all to a place none of us wants to be.
As a mom and grandma I want the world in which those I love are living to be a place where they are safe. I want them to be able to live their lives without the shame of being part of a country which commits war crimes and murders innocent people in other countries. I want them to grow up treating others with love and acceptance. It is for these reasons I have to speak up today.
