As the children we love grow up, their sweet rascally selves continue to show up from time to time. Three years ago when my grands were 14, 11, and 9 they told me I am "vintage" - like everything which was made back when I was born. Hmmm - they are saying I am old, but in a sweet way!
If you have young children in your life, then you know how important it is to read books to them - it sets them up for a lifetime of learning - and it is just fantastic to snuggle together and read a book together at bedtime - or anytime! I read many books to my children and most recently to my grands when they were little, and we enjoyed making up our own stories, too!

Hugs are good for our grandchildren and for us, so if you live near your grandchildren, make time to visit and hand out some of those good-for-you hugs!

As I've been writing over the past few days, because eggs were SO expensive, and often difficult to find last year, I wrote other ideas for fun with the children you love besides coloring real eggs. I've been sharing ideas for Easter Egg alternatives, even though eggs are less expensive, and easier to find this year. Today I have another fun idea which you could use with the children you love in place of coloring Easter Eggs - Birdseed Eggs!
While yesterday was warmish here in Michigan (it was in the 50s) today is cold outside once again (only in the 30s) Regardless of what the weather is like where you live, today is a great day to make Honey, Maple, Oat Artisan Bread, because the amazing aroma will help if it is cold outside - or not! I will share the recipe with you, but before I get to the recipe I want to say this bread just takes minutes to mix by hand, you let it rise for a few hours, then pop it into the oven for about 40 minutes - this is all there is to it!
As I wrote yesterday, last year with the rising price of eggs and difficulty finding eggs, I shared "egg alternative ideas" so if you were looking for other options when it comes to coloring eggs. While eggs are not as expensive this year and are easier to find, the ideas were fun, so I'm sharing them again this year.
