It Just Takes a Few Simple Words

  

One time, a few years ago, when my grands were at my house, my then six-year-old grand was talking when I told them something which had a huge impact. I looked at them and said; “Do you know why I know God loves me?”

They looked at me and said; "Because of Heaven."

I smiled and responded; "Yes, being able to one day go to Heaven is one way I know God loves me, but do you know another reason I know He loves me?"

March 31, 2026 - Transgender Day of Visibility

Today is Transgender Day of Visibility, so since people are transgender due to how their brain developed during the third trimester (NOT a choice they made), I do not hate or make life difficult for anyone - especially for something which happened when they were just a baby growing in their mom, and because Jesus told us to love ALL people, I'm writing about this today. First of all, I am an Ally. I care and I will always stand up for and with those who need an ally. I also have people I dearly love who are trans and queer, so today, and every day, I am for visibility and acceptance for them. I am happy so many people in cities around the world stood up to celebrate and stand up for Transgender People this past Sunday - absolutely another thing to celebrate today on Transgender Day of Visibility.

I am "Vintage"

  

As the children we love grow up, their sweet rascally selves continue to show up from time to time. Three years ago when my grands were 14, 11, and 9 they told me I am "vintage" - like everything which was made back when I was born. Hmmm - they are saying I am old, but in a sweet way!

If you have young children in your life, then you know how important it is to read books to them - it sets them up for a lifetime of learning - and it is just fantastic to snuggle together and read a book together at bedtime - or anytime! I read many books to my children and most recently to my grands when they were little, and we enjoyed making up our own stories, too!

Make Time for Hugs!

Hugs are good for our grandchildren and for us, so if you live near your grandchildren, make time to visit and hand out some of those good-for-you hugs!

While yesterday was warmish here in Michigan (it was in the 50s) today is cold outside once again (only in the 30s) Regardless of what the weather is like where you live, today is a great day to make Honey, Maple, Oat Artisan Bread, because the amazing aroma will help if it is cold outside - or not! I will share the recipe with you, but before I get to the recipe I want to say this bread just takes minutes to mix by hand, you let it rise for a few hours, then pop it into the oven for about 40 minutes - this is all there is to it!
