As I've been writing, since the middle of April when I learned I am a "Lost Canadian", I've been learning about Canada. While I have learned many things, there clearly are a great many things I still do not know and have yet to learn. Today I'm sharing some of the unique things I've learned online about the Canadian Province of Quebec (which is another place in Canada where my ancestors are from!) . . .

Grandparent's Day Gift Idea - Don't Worry: It is Impossible to Spoil Grandchildren
.jpg)
Grandparents Day is September 13th this year - and yes, it is a real holiday! If you are looking for a gift for a grandparent you love to help them make the most of handing down confident faith, consider this book, Don't Worry: It is Impossible to Spoil Grandchildren - and it is available on Kindle and as a print version on Amazon! While it is a great book for grandparents, it is not only for grandparents as if you are a parent, aunt, uncle, or someone who works with children, this book is for you, too.
Try Pair Eyewear and Save $25!
The last time I had to get new glasses, I decided to try Pair Eyewear. This line of glasses was designed to have magnetic top frames which you are able to change out for an entirely new look and style - it is SUCH a fantastic idea! It is like getting an entirely new pair of glasses for only $25 or $30 - the cost of a new topper. I have to say, I absolutely LOVE Pair Eyewear!
World Elephant Day!

Today is a special day, it is World Elephant Day! I personally love elephants - especially Pygmy Elephants (which, yes, are a real thing), so a day to focus on and celebrate these amazing animals is certainly a day worth celebrating! Let's start with some fun elephant facts, did you know . . .

Thoughts From a "Lost Canadian" About Unique Things About New Brunswick

Grandparent's Day Gift Idea - The DNA of Grandparents & Parents Who Hand Down Confident Faith
.jpg)
Grandparents Day is September 13th this year - and yes, it is a real holiday! If you are looking for a gift for a grandparent you love to help them make the most of handing down confident faith, consider this book - The DNA of Grandparents & Parents Who Hand Down Confident Faith.
In this book I look at how our physical DNA is a truly amazing and essential part of who we are, as it holds the "code" or instructions for the things which make us unique as well as for the things we share. It connects us with the generations who came before us; as well as with those who come behind. It is the core of who we are physically.
Today is Son & Daughter Day
I do not need a special day to be thankful for and to remember the joy my daughter, son, daughter-in-law, and grands bring to my life, but today is Son & Daughter Day . . . the day to celebrate our sons and daughters!
Please Stand Up & Speak Up

I have posted this a few times, but with all the things which are happening in our world, I'm sharing it again today. I write grandma's cookie jar to provide ideas for ways grandmas - and grandpas, moms, and dads might connect the children they love with God and build strong, loving relationships. I share recipes, book reviews, fun facts, and more - I try to stay away from politics. But not today. People I know and love live in fear. People I do not know live in fear - and some are dying at the hands of our government - in our country and now around the world. Our government is drowning in corruption and the trump-epstein files causes great concern. I can not stay silent. I do not believe Jesus would be silent, either. So, I am sharing images I found on instagram - they say what I am thinking.

A Fun Resource for the Ones You Love

August is Family Fun Month, so Generations Quest ~ Cultivate the Faith is a great resource to help families have fun with a purpose. It provides 52 weeks of lessons grandparents/ parents will be able to use to engage our grandchildren/children in learning how to love, know, and walk with God!
Each week there is a science activity which will engage children and connect them to the point of the Bible event. They will learn about Bible people and how to pray the Psalms back to God along with fun activities which are just for fun!"Grandmas are Filled with Love from the Bottom of their Feet to the Tippy of Their Heads!"
As I have mentioned a time or two on this blog (or maybe more) I enjoy reading the "memories" section on my facebook page each morning. When my grands were little, I wrote on facebook the cute things they said and did, now thanks to "memories" I am able to enjoy those things all over again whenever they show up on my page! Yesterday I was reminded of something my then five year old grand said; "Grandmas are filled with love from the bottom of their feet to the tippy of their heads!"

Thoughts From a "Lost Canadian" About the Benefits and Challenges of Having Duel Citizenship
When I learned I am a "Lost Canadian" it was an automatic thought of how thrilled and happy I was to be able to having duel citizenship with Canada - and the USA. But, as with any big thing in our lives, there are benefits and challenges which are important for us to know about before making those big decisions. Today I'm writing what I've learned about the benefits and challenges of having duel citizenship.
