crafting with grandma - Bell Candy Cane Ornaments!

My grandsons participated in my church's mid-week Children's Ministry pre-covid when they were younger, and they made ornaments for each of their teachers. One year they made, melting snowmen ornaments - white glitter in a clear glass ornament with a felt triangle for a nose, two tiny black pom-poms for eyes and stick arms - very cute and a lot of fun to make and receive!

The Reason for God - Absolutely a Must-Have Book

Many grandparents/ parents find themselves in a place where they are needing to answer questions relating to why they should believe God is real, the Bible is true, God and science go together, and God is good from their grandchildren/grown children/children. While some may know the answers, many do not. This is why today I am so very happy to share with you a book which answers these very questions - and does so with excellent, thoughtful answers. Tim Keller is the author of The Reason for God and this is a must-have book for every grandparent/parent.

Anchored will Help You Teach the "Whys" - More Important Now than Ever

Today I want to share about an important, much needed, new resource for your church's Children's Ministry - please share this post with the leaders in your church.

Yesterday I read an article about new Gallup Poll results regarding how fewer people in the USA now see the Bible as the literal Word of God. The new poll showed, what was to me, a shocking result - only 20% of people believe the Bible is the literal Word of God - only 20%. This is the lowest percentage since they began taking this poll in 1976. Even more shocking to me, this is the first time more people - 29% - "say the Bible is a collection of 'fables, legends, history and moral precepts recorded by man.'" They went on to say, "This marks the first time significantly more Americans have viewed the Bible as not divinely inspired than as the literal word of God."

Granny Square Purse for Grandma!!!

I had some granny squares on hand, I thought I'd take them and make a new purse . . .  and I'm really happy with the finished purse . . . it has enough room for my things and it has enough color to brighten a day here in Michigan! It is a really easy purse to make . . . just make some granny squares with leftover yarn - I used six granny squares for this purse - then crochet a liner. I attached the liner to the top of the granny squares and then crocheted some additional rows to make the top part of the purse, added a handle and voila! The purse was finished!
