grandma's chuckles - If I "Need" . . . or "Want" Something!

One Saturday night several years ago, my husband and I went to stay with our grandsons while their  parents went out for a couple hours. When we arrived, the boys were already in bed and our younger grandson was sound asleep. Our oldest grandson was not asleep.

As our son and daughter-in-law were heading out the door, from his bedroom we heard our grandson say, "Are they gone yet?" to which we said, "No". This happened a couple times.

Those Little Everyday Blessings

365 Ways to Say "I Love You" to Your Kids

Resources. We are always looking for resources to help us be more effective in raising our grandchildren and in passing on a heritage of faith to them. So, I'm very happy to share one such resource with you today . . .

Grandparents & Love

As I was thinking about what to write today, God brought to mind 1 Corinthians 13:4 . . . Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

These verses give us a very clear view of what love is, and shows us how to love our grandchildren in a way which points them to God. Love is not an emotion which comes and goes. It is not something which depends on how others treat us or how our situation looks. Love is a choice. Period. We choose to love others - no matter what, because this is how God loves us; no matter what.

Today is National Love Our Children Day

Today is National Love Our Children Day - Nationaltoday (dot) com says; "Children are precious gems who must be loved and cherished. National Love Our Children Day is a chance to celebrate the little people who make the world a brighter place, reminding us they deserve to be celebrated every day." The "point" of this day is of course to remind is to let the children we love know we love them, and to raise awareness of child abuse.
