I have three grandsons; they are almost fifteen, about to turn twelve, and nearly ten. I LOVE EVERYTHING about being a grandma . . . the hugs, the kisses, the sweet smiles, reading  books, playing games, making cookies . . . the list goes on and on! 

The Little Ginormous, Humongous, Hairy, One-Eyed Monster Boys Adventures!

  

Recently I shared how when my grandsons were young and at my house for a sleepover, we typically made up stories at bedtime. They almost always had monsters or dinosaurs in them. One night when my oldest grandson was six, my middle grandson was three, and my youngest grandson was one, we were getting them into bed when my oldest grandson said he saw a monster under his brother's bed! This was not what my middle grandson wanted to hear, so I said there could not be any monsters under his bed because the monsters were at their poppa's and grandma's house getting ready for bed on their sleepover. My grandsons found this idea very interesting, so of course, our bedtime story for the night had to have little, ginormous, humongous, hairy, one-eyed monster boys getting ready for bed and being scared because they thought they saw, teeny, tiny, itty, bitty, not-so-hairy, two-eyed people boys under their beds!

Today I am happy to share with you a recipe I saw on Pinterest  which sounds like a fun recipe to try with the ones you love! After all, what could be more fun than making home made ham and cheese  pretzel bites? :-)

Just follow this link and you'll find the recipe . . . it looks pretty easy and like a recipe my grandsons can help with . . . making dough, patting it out, layering the ham and cheese and rolling it up! Of course they will help with the tasting, too!

As surprising as it may seem, the Summer is almost over. For me, it has been filled with lots of wonderful time with my grandsons and has just "flown" by! I'm sure the remaining month will go quickly as well, so I want to be sure I make the most of the time I am blessed to spend with these three boys.

I've been blessed to enjoy a busy and wonderful summer with sweet, rascal  boys . . . they have spent Tuesdays and Thursdays at our house while their parents were at work, and Friday or Saturday nights on sleepover! We have had so much fun!

Today is National Bacon Lovers Day!

When my grandsons spend the night, nearly every Friday or Saturday, we always have bacon for breakfast the next morning, because they enjoy bacon. I am their grandma, so of course we have bacon! When I saw today is National Bacon Lovers Day, I had to let you know . . . it is absolutely a day to celebrate with the ones you love - if they love bacon! I LOVE the imagination of four year olds! I LOVE the way they see the world and how some things are just "obvious" . . . at least if you are four years old! 

It is National Potato Day!

It is National Potato Day! Certainly the potato is a very versatile root and able to be fixed and enjoyed in so many ways, it is most worthy of a day to celebrate it for sure! So let's start with some fun potato facts . . . did you know . . . 

• Potatoes were the first plant grown in space in 1995.
• The Incas of Peru were the first to cultivate potatoes around 8000 BC to 5000 BC.
• In 1974 Eric Jenkins grew 370 pounds from a single potato plant!
• 35% of the potato crop is turned into french fries, 28% is used for fresh, and 13% goes to chips!
• On average, US residents consume 110 pounds of potatoes per year.  Europeans consume twice that much!
